To buy K-pop concert tickets in Korea as a foreigner, book on the English global site of the ticketing company that sells your show: NOL World, Melon Ticket Global or YES24 Ticket. You sign up with an email address and pay with a card issued outside Korea.
To get in, you usually pick up at the venue box office with your passport, or use a mobile ticket where the site offers one; YES24 offers overseas delivery for some shows instead. Some high-demand shows also require a one-time passport and face check before booking.
Which Korean ticket sites have an English version?
Three of the big Korean ticketing companies run English sites with their own help pages. A concert can be listed on one of them or on several, so search the concert name on each.
| NOL World | Melon Ticket Global | YES24 Ticket (English) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay with | Card issued outside Korea: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, UnionPay | Card issued outside Korea, Alipay+, PayPal | Card (no UnionPay; its guide also excludes Amex issued outside Korea; 3D Secure needed), PayPal only for shows more than 180 days away |
| Service fee | 8,000 won for concerts and musicals (varies by product) | Not listed on the global help pages | 3,000 won per ticket |
| Getting the ticket | Box office pick-up or mobile ticket (app or mobile web) | Will call or mobile ticket | Will call or overseas delivery (some shows) |
| Passport check for some shows | Yes (“Verified Member Only”) | Yes (“Verified members only”) | Yes (“Verified Member Only”) |
The old Interpark Global address (globalinterpark.com) now forwards to NOL World. Ticketlink has a /global/en web address too, but it showed us no English content or help pages, so its rules for foreigners are not officially confirmed — check before you go.
Can I sign up without a Korean phone number?
Yes, as far as the official pages show. NOL World starts with an email and a verification code, YES24 with an email link, and Melon with your name, email and password. None of the sign-up or passport-check steps mentions a Korean phone number.
Use your name exactly as it is in your passport. Melon says the name can’t be changed after sign-up, and a mismatch can cause problems at pick-up.
A few rules that trip people up:
- YES24’s English site is separate from the Korean YES24 site and from global.yes24.com. You need a new account, and the email link expires after 1 hour.
- Melon’s sign-up only accepts the six email domains in the table above.
- Melon notes that its global site is meant for foreigners living outside Korea, and users in Korea should use the Korean service.
- Korean passport holders are sent to the Korean sites for the passport check on all three.
If other Korean apps have blocked you for lack of a local number, see Korea apps that work without a Korean number.
What is the passport check (“Verified Member Only”)?
For some high-demand concerts, the show page says only verified members can book. It’s a one-time eKYC check linked to one account, meant to stop resale. On NOL World and YES24 the steps are the same:
- On the show page, click the Verified Member Only button and scan the QR code with your phone.
- Accept the privacy and KYC terms, then enter the code sent to your email.
- Choose your nationality and photograph your physical passport (no photos or copies).
- Check the passport details, then take a photo of your face.
- Refresh the show page on your computer. The booking button should now appear.
On Melon the path is My Info > Verification, then the same passport and face scan.
All three tell you to finish it 1–2 days before tickets open, because it slows down at opening time. One passport can verify only one account. NOL World says a manual review can take up to 24 hours if your name wasn’t read correctly. On YES24 you can also verify in advance from My Info > Verify Account > Pre-Verification, before the show page goes live.
When do tickets open, and what about fan club presales?
Each show sets its own presale and general-sale times on its event page. The ticket sites don’t publish one rule for everyone. Melon’s booking guide shows a “Fanclub Confirmation” button next to “Get Tickets,” and YES24 says verified members see a “Verified Member” button on presale shows that turns into “Booking” when sales start.
Whether fans abroad can join a presale depends on the artist’s fan club. Check the artist’s official notice before opening day.
How does the online queue work?
On opening day you are placed in a waiting room. NOL World spells out its queue rules:
- One queue number per account. Opening the same account on a second device or browser can close your first place in line.
- Don’t refresh or close the page. Refreshing sends you to the back.
- Don’t use a VPN; it can be flagged as a bot and blocked.
- Keep the screen on and stay in one spot. Moving around on mobile data can drop the connection.
- A queue number doesn’t guarantee a ticket.
Each show can limit how many tickets you buy; YES24 caps a single booking at 10 tickets, and NOL World says organizers may set per-order or per-member limits.
Once you’re in, NOL World gives you up to 10 minutes to pick seats and then holds them for 7 minutes while you pay, though some events differ. Seats you didn’t pay for in time are released. Melon recommends Chrome on a computer and turning off the pop-up blocker for the site, and YES24 gives the same pop-up advice.
Our view: the account, the passport check and a test login on the device you’ll use matter more than fast clicking. Do all three at least two days early, and book from a stable connection rather than hotel Wi-Fi you haven’t tried; our eSIM vs USIM vs pocket Wi-Fi comparison covers data options.
How do I pay with a foreign card?
NOL World and Melon accept only cards issued outside Korea. Melon warns that a ticket paid with a Korean card can be cancelled even if the payment went through. On NOL World you choose between your card’s home currency and Korean won; it lists 24 currencies for Visa and Mastercard.
On YES24, card payment needs 3D Secure, so make sure your bank has it switched on. PayPal is only offered when the show is more than 180 days after your booking date, and the 10-cent PayPal fee is not refunded. On Melon, your card statement shows “KGINICIS” or “BC Card,” not Melon Ticket.
How do I get my ticket at the venue?
At the box office on the show day, bring:
- Your physical passport.
- Your booking confirmation or booking number (Melon and YES24 ask you to print it from My Ticket).
You can’t collect tickets before the show day. NOL World says pick-up starts 1 hour before the show, and a lost ticket is not reissued after pick-up. Allow plenty of time, because lines can be long.
Mobile tickets: NOL World’s QR ticket works only in the NOL World app or mobile web. If your phone shows a QR code instead of the ticket, your browser is in desktop mode: switch it to the mobile site. Melon also offers a mobile ticket to international buyers. If you are booking for friends, NOL World lets you send a mobile ticket to each person from My Reservations at some shows. They must register it within 24 hours, and once a ticket is sent you generally can’t cancel that booking unless it is returned.
Picking up for a friend: YES24 says only the ticket holder can collect will-call tickets unless the show says otherwise. NOL World and Melon allow it at some shows with the buyer’s ID and booking details. Check the show page.
How much does it cost to cancel?
On NOL World and Melon, cancelling by 11:59 p.m. Korea time on the day you booked has no cancellation fee; after that, the fee depends on the show and is listed on its page. Don’t leave it to the last minute: Melon warns that cancellation may not go through after 11:30 p.m. Korea time because some banks pause transactions for maintenance. YES24 is the only one that publishes a full table:
| YES24, when you cancel | Fee |
|---|---|
| Within 7 days of booking | None |
| From day 8 until 10 days before the show | 4,000 won per concert or musical ticket (capped at 10% of the amount paid) |
| 9 to 7 days before the show | 10% of the amount paid |
| 6 to 3 days before the show | 20% |
| 2 to 1 days before the show | 30% |
When the two rules overlap, YES24 says the show-date rates apply first. The service fee is refunded only if you cancel on the booking day (YES24 and Melon).
Cancellation closes at 5 p.m. Korea time the day before the show, and for Sunday and Monday shows at 11 a.m. on Saturday (YES24’s wording). YES24 also takes no cancellations on public holidays, and once the deadline passes there is no cancellation, change or refund.
NOL World and Melon also stop cancellations at 5 p.m. Korea time the day before the show, or at 11 a.m. if that day is a Saturday. Their help pages don’t say Monday shows close on Saturday the way YES24’s does, so check the cancellation deadline shown on your booking page. After that, no cancellation or refund. Card refunds then take about 3–7 days (Melon, YES24) or 5–7 days (NOL World), depending on your card company.
Is buying resale tickets legal in Korea?
Scalping is restricted by Korea’s Performance Act. Since March 22, 2024, reselling tickets bought with macro (bot) programs at a markup has been a crime. An amendment in force since August 28, 2026 goes further, whether or not a bot was used. It bans:
- buying tickets for resale by getting around a ticket site’s security or fair booking process, and
- reselling tickets above the price paid, habitually or as a business, without the ticket seller’s consent, or arranging such sales.
Breaking these rules can bring up to 1 year in prison or a fine of up to 10 million won. The Ministry of Culture can also charge a reseller up to 50 times the sale amount. Since August 28, 2026, courts can also confiscate the profit from illegal resale. Reselling tickets at a markup outside a venue is also a separate minor offence under the Minor Offenses Act, punishable by a fine of up to 200,000 won, short detention or a petty fine.
The ministry’s campaign message is that you shouldn’t buy scalped tickets either. The ticket sites back this up: NOL World says tickets traded outside official channels may be cancelled without notice or refund, and IDs may be checked at the door. Our advice is simple: buy only from the official seller of your show, under your own name.
Can foreigners get into Korean music shows?
Not officially confirmed. We found no broadcaster page explaining how foreign visitors can apply to watch a weekly music show. Audience places are usually announced by the artist’s agency on its official fan platform, show by show. Follow the artist’s official notices and check the rules before you go.
If your booking goes wrong
The booking window won’t open.
Allow pop-ups for the ticket site and use the latest Chrome or Edge. NOL World suggests clearing the cache or using its app; on a Galaxy Fold, its mobile web can’t select seats, so use the app.
My card was declined.
Check that the card was issued outside Korea and, for YES24, that 3D Secure is on. On Melon, a UnionPay payment with no booking record is refunded automatically within a few days.
My passport check says Declined or Pending.
On NOL World, ask to reset the submission from the show page, and expect up to 24 hours for a name review. On YES24 you can’t retry yourself; email global_yesticket@yes24.com.
I want different seats or another date.
None of the sites change seats or dates after booking. Cancel and book again, which may cost a cancellation fee.
My account was restricted.
NOL World restricts accounts for 3 months or more for macro use, resale, or booking many tickets with the same or similar personal details. It lets you send an explanation, and the review takes about 10–15 days.
